Grave Visions by Kalayna Price is the much-anticipated fourth installment in the kick-ass urban fantasy series about Alex Craft, a grave witch who can communicate with the dead.

If you want to hear voices from the dead in Nekros City, you call Alex Craft. She's a Grave Witch with reasonable rates and extraordinary powers, who specializes in revealing the secrets of the dead. But now she's the one fighting to keep her own secret. She's not human—and her newly discovered heritage is causing havoc for her both in the human realm and in Faerie. But her status as an unaffiliated fae also makes her an ideal candidate to investigate a new street drug that has surfaced in several of the spaces between the human and fae worlds.

This glamour-infused drug causes hallucinations that turn real—at least for a while and often with deadly consequences. Searching for the source of this drug—and its purpose—lands Alex front and center in the conflict brewing in Faerie and she must find answers before she's dragged so deep she loses her freedom.

It was a long wait for GRAVE VISIONS, the fourth in the Alex Craft series. Was it worth it? Yes! It took awhile to get back into the world-memories of what happened in the previous books coming back slowly as the plot progressed. In GRAVE VISIONS Alex is in more trouble and this time it involves a lot more time in Faerie than she'd like. Aside from solving a grisly murder Alex has to deal with a wedding, figure out just which fae court to belong to before she fades, do her job as a grave witch in the mortal and fae realms, and figure out her mess of a love life. Saying she has a lot on her plate would be an understatement.

On the Faerie issues I enjoyed seeing the different courts and seeing Alex figure out how to do her grave witch abilities while solve the murder under the rules of Faerie with a increasingly crazy fae queen breathing down her neck. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this plot and the rather interesting way it connected to a few bizarre murders that happened in the mortal realm. It was neat seeing Alex experiment with using her powers in Faerie and see her connection to her fae heritage grow.

On Alex's love life there is little forward progression. It's messy. A relationship with Death would be 'illegal' and a relationship with Falin would be complicated. Quite frankly figuring out which court Alex should belong to seems simpler than figuring out her love life and what she should do.

GRAVE VISIONS also moves the over arching storyline forward in regards to what her planeweaving powers mean for her future with the fae and the fae courts.  I'm so glad to see this series back and hope to see more of Alex's adventures.
