Review: Wolf on a Mission (Salvation Pack #6) by N.J. Walters

WOLF ON A MISSION is a very well written and wonderfully compelling romance which pulls the reader in to the story with characters you grow to really care about. I loved how caring Elias was in regards to taking care of his nephews and admired his determination to find his nephew’s a place to belong.

A sweeping romance that spans centuries, THE DEEPEST WELL is a spin-off of the dark and sexy Vessel Trilogy. THE DEEPEST WELL bookends the Vessel Trilogy, with the action taking place both before and after that series, and I think the people who will most enjoy this book are those who have already read it.

While DANCE WITH THE DEVIL is the first in a series, there was so much backstory as to how the warring packs got to where they are at the start of the story that I think there should be some sort of short story to go before this book. What we get told about the past is fascinating and complex and this conflict between the packs is what the main plot of DANCE WITH THE DEVIL revolves around.

Review: The Devil’s A Werewolf (Seven Brides For Seven Shifters #2), by Thalia Eames

There are a lot of things that don’t quite work in THE DEVIL IS A WEREWOLF; the general setting, the gabillion characters (and this is just book two…), the massive breaks in the story, the gaps in the mythology, and the easy resolution at the end that I felt could have come months and months beforehand.

Still, there are things that worked for me. It’s true that Dax and Jules, two daredevil, strong characters, have instant chemistry, and their romance is truly wet and wild. Dax has a crippling “curse” that causes him physical pain whenever he touches anyone skin to skin… Anyone but Jules that is.

There was a lot going on in BOUND IN BLACK. Gen ventured into hell, Thomas revealed his true nature, there was a prophecy that was coming to pass, and surprises abounded around every corner. Despite the revelation-filled plot line, however, BOUND IN BLACK felt slow, and it felt like a lot of the action was relegated toward the ending.

I tend to like my books quite spicy – and I used to think the more sex the better. Well, I’ve been proven wrong, and in a werewolf novel to boot. Although the sex scenes in BRIDGED BY LOVE were well written, I really could have done with way less of them. By the end of the book, I was skipping pages of erections and orgasms – more story, please!
