With SHADOW REAPER, Feehan has managed to improve a series I already enjoyed. The part I liked, the sexy and dark vibe, was maintained, but the main characters felt more realistic and not so over-the-top. Also, the very original world continues to grow, and I find myself looking forward to all of the Ferraro siblings’ stories!
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Nalini Singh describes SILVER SILENCE as the start of a “second arc or season” for the Psy-Changeling series and that description feels very correct. Like the previous books, SILVER SILENCE carries with it the history of this world, the compelling characters, passionate romances, and fascinating plot while forging its own path into a new world. I loved seeing the way in which the fall of Silence and the following Trinity Accord has effected all of the races and their interactions with each other.
COUGAR BAIT, the second in the Cougarville series expanded on the series’ complex and fascinating world with a unique take on shifters that I hadn’t come across before. Interesting world-building with an action-packed plot aside,
There is so much to love in KING IN WOLF’S CLOTHING, it’s hard to decide which part of this m/m historical werewolf paranormal romance novel I enjoyed the best. Wait, no, I loved Kent.
With the long wait for WHITE HOT to be released, I was a little concerned that my expectations had gotten a bit too high. Luckily, WHITE HOT met and exceeded those expectations, leaving me ready to re-read as soon as I was finished. WHITE HOT is nearly perfect paranormal romance: excellent world building coupled with three-dimensional characters, and a great plot line to top it off.
MARK OF TRUTH hits every expected beat in an urban fantasy/paranormal romance. There’s the loyal teammates, the hunky love interest that she kinda hates, the adopted pets, the adopted child. The world of MARK OF TRUTH is expansive (sometimes to its detriment) and features several rival fae factions.
CATCH A TIGER BY THE TAIL takes place in the same world as LEGAL WOLF’S MATE, and with such a dramatic twist in the first book, I was still surprised by the twist in this one. These novellas are not necessarily a series; they were both released in shifter themed paranormal romance anthologies, so they’re made to be read individually. They are funny, sexy bites of paranormal romance that can be read in one sitting.
I picked up HER WISH because it sounded kinda corny; it had a little-used premise (genies!) and a chesty cover. I was not expecting to be blown away by a well constructed magical world and a touching, realistic romance that bloomed as the book progressed. I was pleasantly surprised by just how much this book made me smile and frown and laugh.
DATING THE UNDEAD introduces a world where vampires are “out” and don’t need blood to survive. It’s also a world where vampires need a website to find dates though, which is a bit strange.
THE UNYIELDING is a fun romp through both the Norse underworld and the modern world, with a good dose of mischief and sexy romance. The characters are fun, the monsters are properly horrific and the stakes are high enough to matter. Although Ragnarok is no laughing matter, THE UNYIELDING makes it fun.
