Tension is a major mood in WAXING MOON which is felt in so many tones from Julie having to deal with conflicting desires for how Julie should live her life to the very real threat of a rival supernatural group bent on killing her son, Carson. Much of the story is action-packed and pretty thrilling to read.

BAD BOY’S BARD was always going to be a difficult novel. Like all Greater Fae, Gareth holds prejudiced views of Lesser Fae and other fantastical communities. Ever since his human lover was killed 200 years ago, Gareth has been morose, grumpy, and all other derivatives of broody.
I’m down for any story with a heroine, but I was especially drawn to EVER THE BRAVE when I found out Britta had saved the king in the first book. I immediately wanted to know more about her and her Channeler powers.
THE FOREVER SHIP is an unflinching portrayal of revolution. War is more than fighting. It’s starvation, waiting, and unwinnable situations. For every victory in THE FOREVER SHIP there is an equal devastating loss.
THE CURIOUS AFFAIR OF THE WITCH AT WAYSIDE CROSS captures the Victorian interest in the supernatural elements really well with the plot revolving around a mysterious society and talk of otherworldly characters.
The promise of time travel shenanigans drew me to WEAVE A CIRCLE ROUND. When done right, time travel can be immensely fun and mind-bending. I was intrigued and excited to find out how Freddy had arrived thousands of years in the past and what the consequences would be.
Novellas are the perfect medium for Christmas themed stories: perfect to read in one sitting under a blanket on a gray day. That said, I think I would have gladly read a full length novel about Ryan and Winter and their roller-coaster week before Christmas. BITTERSWEET CHRISTMAS featured characters that got you invested quickly and kept you hooked until the end.
STAR HERO is a novella sequel to THE CHAMPION OF BARESH (re-released as STAR CHAMPION) which I adored, so I jumped at the opportunity to return to Baresh, the smelly, dirty mining town under a glass dome. Baresh is a world crawling with packs of wild dog-like creatures, mobs of feral children and overwhelming despair.
LURE OF OBLIVION is a pretty fun, action-filled installment of the Mercury Pack series. The plot is really compelling and complex mostly involving a clash between shifters and small town humans. What struck me in this story was the utter brutality and pettiness of the bad guys.
PERFECT GRAVITY picks up pretty much right after the events of its prequel WANTED AND WIRED. Characters from that book play significant roles in this one but its not really a necessity to have read WANTED AND WIRED to understand what is going on here.
