While the best of Urban Fantasy can balance character growth and enthralling world building, sometimes a book puts all its eggs in one basket. TELL THE WIND AND FIRE has a world, and though the politics and geography can be a bit odd, the magic is well developed. None of this matters a whit, however, when compared to how much I loved Lucie.

MONSTROUS AFFECTIONS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF BEASTLY TALES was a mixed bag for me with some stories being pretty entertaining and spooky while others fell flat or just outright confused me. Each story involved a twist on a classic monster or monsters who inhabit the world living alongside humans.
Just a few paragraphs into UNSPOKEN and I knew I was reading something special. UNSPOKEN was the perfect confluence of humor, romance, and mystery for me. Kami’s conversational playfulness and wit were instantly charming, and the complicated relationship between her and Jared was both enthralling and hilarious. I am a sucker for a bad boy, and a bad boy with a sense of humor is purely irresistible.
