SHADES OF HONOR continues the Anomaly series. The Anomaly series is a great military sci-fi series, that I feel can be enjoyed by urban fantasy readers and sci-fi readers alike. The heroine effectively has supernatural powers that make her one of the best soldiers in the Known Universe making her seem a lot like urban fantasy heroine.

Though SHADES OF TREASON is science fiction, it really felt a lot like an urban fantasy story just in a sci-fi setting. The main character, Ash, is an anomaly. Though just what an anomaly is was never explained, anomalies are stronger, faster, and in some ways smarter than other humans. All those extra abilities made Ash feel a lot like your standard supernatural urban fantasy heroine.

Early Review: The Sharpest Blade (McKenzie Lewis, #3) by Sandy Williams

Because I’m entirely too OCD to read the last book in a series without having read the ones before, I’ve spent the past two weeks catching up on the McKenzie Lewis series. And I’m very glad I did. Not that I don’t think there would have been enough backstory within THE SHARPEST BLADE to catch me up, but the emotional ride wouldn’t have meant as much.
