I don’t know why Paige Tyler’s two series are so different, but where I adore the SWAT (Secret Werewolf Alpha Team) series, the X-Ops series just isn’t my cup of tea. It’s not as fun as the first, and the characters aren’t as likeable or deep.
Author: Paige Tyler
A Wolf Unleashed keeps the action high and the romance steamy for the duration of the book. With dog-fighting rings, a hot new drug that’s killing people at an alarming rate and a spat of college girls going missing, there’s a lot for the Dallas SWAT team to be involved with, even if their supervisors would rather they just break doors down on command. Too bad these shifters can smell trouble coming a mile away.
It’s no secret that I adore the SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) series, having given 4 and 5 bats to the last two titles in the series. I’m pleased to say that TO LOVE A WOLF did not disappoint, keeping the werewolf/criminal action high, the romance hot and the mystery strong throughout the whole book. Cooper and Everly are super together and I finished their story in just one day.
HER FIERCE WARRIOR packs a mighty punch as a suspenseful paranormal romance. The previous three books in this series are pretty brutal in their violence and intensity and while that aspect is toned down a bit in this story it’s still there especially in the first scene when we meet Minka and Angelo.
I adored the first two books in the SWAT series, but IN THE COMPANY OF WOLVES might be my favourite yet. Jayna is an amazing character, and the action and danger barely ever let up.
The first book of the SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) series was fun, but WOLF TROUBLE, featuring two werewolves instead of a werewolf man with a human female, was even better.
The Dallas SWAT has been hand-picked from different law enforcement and military backgrounds, but they all have something in common: they all survived something a normal person wouldn’t, and started sprouting teeth and fur soon afterward. Werewolves in this world are triggered by a life-threatening injury in a person with the right genetic disposition.
For a lover or romantic suspense novels, and a lover of were-everything, HER WILD HERO should have hit all my buttons, and it nearly did.
The love story takes a while to develop, which is nice; it’s great to see characters who have to work through their issues and misgivings before falling into bed together, and Kendra and Declan have a bunch of those to work out.
HER LONE WOLF is a fun, suspenseful paranormal romance that leans heavily towards the thriller genre. There are government conspiracies and elaborate chase scenes with a tight plot and tons of twists and turns.
