Following an author from one series to another, especially in the same genre, can sometimes be a bit of a risk. After all, it’s not the same characters that you already fell in love with, not the same world, and who knows? You may not like the new characters and world building, or they might be so similar you get the two confused. Luckily, JINN AND JUICE is a great start to a new series, original and fun, that really shows Peeler knows what she’s doing.

This was a great story to start this anthology out with as it gives you the flavor of carnival life with its descriptions of sleazy carnies and weird, almost creepy relationships they have with eachother. PAINTED LOVE’s narrator, Doddle, was a weirdly passive and silent character and throughout most of the story I was constantly trying to figure out what his deal was.
The first two books in the Jane True series were some of the very first adult Urban Fantasy I read after Sookie, and as such, I have a bit of a soft spot for Jane. However, soft spot or not, TEMPEST REBORN was an easy to read amalgamation of action and humor, with sexy and tender moments thrown in for good measure.
Bubbly, witty, and libido cranked to eleven, Jane True is my kind of hero. Though I missed reading EYE OF THE TEMPEST, I had no trouble catching up with both Jane and her furry leading man. TEMPEST’S FURY is definitely favorite book of the series, shadowing Jane as she starts a new relationship and saves the world… more or less in that order.
