For quite awhile the Arrows have been a group of characters who I’ve been interested in learning more about as I’ve read the Psy-Changling series. It was really neat seeing the interior lives of the Arrows. Aden, one of the Arrows who has been ‘hanging’ around the series for a few books now is finally given a story in SHARDS OF HOPE and it’s a story filled with sadness, pain, loneliness, and as the title aptly says a shard of hope.

While anthologies aren’t normally my thing, the draw of the Kate Daniels and SPI Investigations stories were just too much for me to pass up in the case of NIGHT SHIFT. Luckily, the whole anthology was high caliber and well worth the read, with four outstanding stories that, though part of series in three of the four cases, manage to stand on their own.
I was thrilled to finally get a novel length story featuring Ash and Janvier and jumped at the chance to read and review it. I fell in love with these Ash and Janvier in ANGEL’S PAWN and have been waiting impatiently for more about these two. HEART OF OBSIDIAN was an emotionally charged and intensely brilliant story that had me staying up long into the night to finish it. In this book we see the impact of the slowly breaking self- imposed Silence on the Psy race with violent reactions to change and struggles for freedom by the Pure-Psy faction.
