An improvement over the THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOMS CLUB, WHERE THE WILD THINGS BITE starts to bring the Half-Moon Hollow series back to where I want it to be – funny, lighthearted and a nice little escape read.
Author: Molly Harper
After my disappointment with THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOMS CLUB, I was really looking for some sign that Molly Harper’s books were still for me. Luckily, FANGS FOR THE MEMORIES pulled through, with its cute little romance, snappy dialogue and characters we already love.
I’ve been having a hard time with Molly Harper lately. After THE DANGERS OF DATING A REBOUND VAMPIRE didn’t live up to my expectations, I was really hoping for THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOMS CLUB to rekindle my love. Unfortunately, THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOMS CLUB fell completely flat for me, in both the romance and the plot aspects.
If I’M DREAMING OF AN UNDEAD CHRISTMAS left me wanting more, THE DANGERS OF DATING A REBOUND VAMPIRE definitely did not fulfill that need. With a lackluster romance, a mediocre mystery and generally too many characters to keep track of, THE DANGERS OF DATING A REBOUND VAMPIRE did not live up to the expectations I had for it.
I’M DREAMING OF AN UNDEAD CHRISTMAS lives up to its billing as a prequel novella to THE DANGERS OF DATING A REBOUND VAMPIRE. Unfortunately, I must have missed that part before I read it, and as such, was expecting a complete romance story, like the other novellas in the Half Moon Hollow series.
Take a standard romance novel trope, add a ghost story and some humor, and you get a romance novel only Molly Harper could write. BETTER HOMES & HAUNTINGS is a departure from Harper’s normal vampires, werewolves, and witches, but it doesn’t suffer for it. In fact, this standalone was a treat, and definitely worth the read despite my complaints about tropes.
I adore the Naked Werewolf series for its light, fun and sexy adventures and HOW TO RUN WITH A NAKED WEREWOLF continues with the sexy and snarky I’ve come to love in this series. Its hilarious, has tons of action and I fell in love with both Anna and Caleb right away.
I have yet to read anything by Molly Harper that wasn’t a complete delight. A WITCH’S HANDBOOK TO KISSES AND CURSES was no exception, following in the trend of light, fun paranormal romances, with the little twist of magic this time around. Fans of Harper’s Jane Jameson series will be happy to know she plays a larger role in this book than in the previous Half Moon Hollow stories, and those new to this world won’t find themselves too lost picking up this book in the middle of the series.
