THE TURN takes Hollows fans back to where it all began, a world where witches, vampires, and all sorts of magic are hidden away behind the sexism, racism, and revolution of the 60’s.
Author: Kim Harrison
THE WITCH WITH NO NAME is a fond farewell to all of the brilliantly flawed and loveable characters we’ve come to adore in The Hollows series. It takes a special series to make you actually feel so emotionally attached to characters so I was a bit nervous that THE WITCH WITH NO NAME would not live up to my expectations of how this series should end.
As satisfying for the quiet interactions in the background as for the sweeping action or big character growth, THE UNDEAD POOL is The Hollows at it’s best. The paranormal world of Rachel Morgan is an intricate ecosystem of magic and normalcy, and never is that so apparent as here near the series’s end.
With so much in the balance, this was a hard Hollows book for me to read. Rachel is inescapably the focus, and having the cowardice and petty cruelty of demon society dog her footsteps was a frustration the whole book through. I loved the issues of trust explored, was absolutely shocked by the losses suffered, and am angry at the dynastic roadblock impeding a budding romance.
