The Kurtherian Gambit has been on my list for forever, but with so many books in the universe I’ve stayed away from it, until now. I wish I’d picked it up earlier. DEATH BECOMES HER is an amazing start to an amazing series, and don’t just take my word for it.

THE TANGLED LANDS is less a novel, than four interrelated novellas. Each part focuses on different characters working within Khaim, a city covered in deadly thorns and vines due to the overuse of magic. Khaim acts as the main character, setting, and antagonist throughout each novella.
THE MYTH MANIFESTATION is exactly what one would expect from Lisa Shearin and the SPI Files series. It’s got our sassy-as-ever Mac, action packed scenes with creepy creatures, and general all around humor and fun. Plus, this book opens the door for even more crossover between Shearin’s SPI Files and Raine Benares series.
THE TOMBS captured my attention with the alluring promise of a forbidding city and a young woman struggling with unexplainable powers. I was enthusiastic to read a historical fiction novel and found the stylized cover intriguing.
FIRE AND BONE is a refreshing addition to the Urban Fantasy genre. Greek and Roman mythology have been way over done, Norse mythology is starting to get to that point, but there are so few stories about Celtic mythology out there. FIRE AND BONE does a great job weaving Celtic mythos into an excellent story.
There’s nothing worse than being told how special and talented a character is, without ever seeing the proof for yourself. In CHANGING LOYALTIES, Dahlia has always been the dividing line between the werewolf and vampire factions.
PRIDE AND PROMETHEUS is not only a clever, thought-provoking mash-up between two beloved stories -Frankenstein and Pride and Prejudice – it expertly captures the tone and themes of each book. There is such an excellent balance between Gothic Horror and Regency Romance.
BITCH PLANET is a thought-provoking and important series, but it can also be a difficult one to read. Kelly Sue DeConnick has the ability to turn a spotlight on a harsh truth and inspect it. BITCH PLANET: TRIPLE FEATURE VOLUME 1 introduces us to different artists and writers, each with their own spin on DeConnick’s universe.
The Invisible Library series consistently provides an entertaining and enjoyable reading experience. I love Irene and Kai, and I love the concept of the Library. While THE LOST PLOT felt like a side quest to the main, overarching plot of the series (no super evil librarians in sight here, or questions answered from previous books), it was still a great deal of fun to read.
DANGEROUS MATING is sort of like the “Goldilocks” of paranormal romances. It’s not too dark, serious, and complex but also not super light, fluffy, and silly. It’s just right in the middle which is great to have in a genre. The plot is fast-paced and action-packed- filled with moments that keep you constantly on the edge of your seat yet infused with enough levity that things never get too dark.
