Dear Santa: My Christmas Urban Fantasy Wish List

Dear Santa: My Christmas Urban Fantasy Wish List

December 8, 2009 News 8

Dear Santa, By human standards, I have been very good this year.  I didn’t run over any animals, or children for that matter. I didn’t knowingly buy anything made in a sweatshop, and I didn’t flush any of my money down the toilet by buying tickets to go see Transformers 2 (oh that I could say the same about Transformers 1).  I figure that entitles me to a few requests, and as I live, breath, and eat books, here are the urban fantasy titles that I most want to find wrapped under my tree(yes, I realize a few of these… Read more »

Sexy Dracula and his Girlfriend are back!

November 22, 2009 News 1

“…With werewolves this time!”  My favorite quote about the New Moon movie by a non-Twilight fan.  He’s probably less than thrilled by the impressive box office take New Moon made in it’s opening weekend (scroll down to see the two records it already broke). I, on the other hand, am thrilled.  You can weigh in your opinion and read my comparison of the movie & book HERE and check out the poster mash up below. “New Moon box office records break all those set before. Twilight New Moon Movie & Book Compare and Contrast

November 20, 2009 News 8

Yep.  I was one of those people who went to the midnight opening of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on last night (or technically this morning) and I even took my teenage sister and a carload of her friends (all clad in T-shirts and other Twilight paraphernalia plastered with Robert Pattinson’s face and one lone Jacob holdout) with me.  Yes, there was a lot of screaming.  I finished re-reading the book the night before(I wanted all the details as fresh as possible prior to seeing the movie. The basic story is the same in both the movie and the book:… Read more »

2nd Opinion Reviews Wanted

2nd Opinion Reviews Wanted

November 10, 2009 News 3

I’m thinking about adding a new feature here on ATUF that would be similar to Amazon’s Most Helpful Critical/Favorable Review.  I often disagree with reviews of particular books, sometimes even from reviewers who I usually agree with.  I know that some of you have disagreed with some of my previous reviews and I’d like to give you the opportunity to offer a 2nd Opinion Review.    If you’d like to participate, simply email me your review for any of the books I’ve previously reviewed (you can find a list HERE) and include a link to your blog if you have… Read more »
