Near Perfect - Buy two copies: one for you and one for a friend.

Excellent - Loved it! Buy it now & put this author on your watch list

Good - A fun read with minor flaws. Maybe read an excerpt before buying.

Okay – A few good points, but with significant flaws. Library/swap/borrow if you want.

Poor - I had to force myself to finish it.  Fatally flawed on multiple levels.

Blurbs/Quotes

  • UK Cover of AFTERTIME by Sophie Littlefield
The best zombie book I’ve read all year.

    - Quote from AFTERTIME review by Abigail

  • Interior of BLACK HOWL by Christina Henry
The story was a nonstop action blast full of smart-alecky gargoyle guardians, devilishly handsome (and enigmatic) love interests, arrogant demons, wicked witches and more jaw-dropping revelations than a Jerry Springer show. I barely had time to catch my breath between chapters.

  • Back cover of DEVIL’S PUNCH by Ann Aguirre

Urban Fantasy fans will want to get drunk on this series…[It] just keeps getting better.

    - Quote from SHADY LADY review by Abigail

  • Interior of GRAVE MEMORY by Kalayna Price
The worldbuilding in the Alex Craft series is a dense and vibrant tour de force.

    - Quote from GRAVE DANCE review by Abigail

  • Interior of HORIZON by Sophie Littlefield

I’m geeking out of my mind after reading Aftertime because I felt almost the same way reading it as I do watching The Walking Dead: captivated.

    - Quote from AFTERTIME review by Abigail

  • Back cover of HOW TO DRIVE A DRAGON CRAZY by G. A. Aiken
A chest thumping, mead-hall rocking, enemy slaying brawl of a good book.

    - Quote from THE DRAGON WHO LOVED ME review by Julia

  • Interior of THE HOUR OF DUST AND ASHES by Kelly Gay
What do you do when your first book is one of the most highly praised urban fantasy debuts of the year? If you’re Kelly Gay, you follow up The Better Part of Darkness with The Darkest Edge of Dawn and force reviewers everywhere to try and find a better way to describe amazing.

    - Quote from THE DARKEST EDGE OF DAWN review by Abigail

  • Interior of LEFT HAND MAGIC by Nancy A. Collins
Whenever a series is named after its location, I expect that location to be as much a character as the protagonist. And the new Golgotham urban fantasy series delivers. The fictitious New York city [neighborhood] is a strange and wonderful place...

    - Quote from RIGHT HAND MAGIC review by Abigail

  • Interior of MOONSHIFTED by Cassie Alexander
NIGHTSHIFTED is like a dark and twisted version of Grey’s Anatomy with vampires, zombies, and werewolves taking up residence in County Hospital’s Y4 wing...The story moves at a similar pace to a hospital setting where there are small lulls in action and with sudden, even frantic bursts of action. That sort of pacing made NIGHTSHIFTED an exciting read as I was constantly on edge, waiting to see what was going to happen next.

    - Quote from NIGHTSHIFTED review by Kristina

  • Back cover of THE RIFT WALKER by Clay & Susan Griffin

I was blindsided by how phenomenal The Greyfriar was from start to finish. Amazing vampire mythology, a chilling alternate history, and a poignant romance that grips your whole heart and refuses to let go. . . . The action is exhilarating, the vampires are refreshingly sinister, and the love story a gentle force so captivating that I truly believe it will weather even the most daunting obstacles. Book two in the Vampire Empire can’t come soon enough. My rating: 5/5, Near Perfect—Buy two copies: one for you and one for a friend.

    - Quote from THE GREYFRIAR review by Abigail

  • Interior of SACRIFICIAL MAGIC by Stacia Kane
Like any drug, the first taste gets your attention but it's the second taste that gets you hooked. I though the first Downside Ghosts book, Unholy Ghosts, was an impressive debut, but UNHOLY MAGIC is even better. I am well and truly addicted to this dark, seductive urban fantasy series.

    - Quote from UNHOLY MAGIC review by Abigail

  • Interior of SHADOWS BEFORE THE SUN by Kelly Gay
Every single thing about the Charlie Madigan series gets better with each book. In THE HOUR OF DUST AND ASHES, the mythology expands, the romance deepens, and the characters come that much closer to actually breathing real air...All I can say is bring on the next one!

    - Quote from THE HOUR OF DUST AND ASHES review by Abigail

  • Interior of THE SHATTERED DARK by Sandy Williams
Fantastically fun urban fantasy! One of the best debuts of the year... [It] checked off all my urban fantasy wish list boxes, and I can’t wait to read the sequel.

    - Quote from THE SHADOW READER review by Abigail

  • Back cover of SINS OF THE DEMON by Diana Rowland
Phenomenal world building, a tough yet venerable heroine, a captivating love triangle, and a increasingly compelling metanarrative that just gets juicier with each book… Blows most other urban fantasies out of the park.

    - Quote from SECRETS OF THE DEMON review by Abigail

  • Back cover of STALKING THE OTHERS by Jess Haines

It doesn’t get much better for pure urban fantasy than Jess Haines.

    – Quote from TAKEN BY THE OTHERS review by Abigail
