This anthology hinges around the forbidden and irresistible; the compelling touch of the person you know you shouldn’t be with but just can’t deny. Of the three stories presented, Jeaniene Frost did not disappoint, Shayla Black’s story didn’t work for me, and Sharie Kohler’s Darkest Temptation led me to add her other books to my TBR pile. All in all, a well balanced collection and an enjoyable read.

MERCY BLADE swept me back into a familiar series, carried me along without breath, and then spit me back out at my desk to write a review. In hindsight, I do have a few minor criticisms for this book, but at no time while reading did any of these issues slow me down. I gulped down the story and loved every minute, putting it down at 3 a.m. with an audible “Oooooh.” Talk about your cliff hanger endings, I can’t wait to pick up RAVEN CURSED when it comes out.

While the quick snap of love at first sight is a common occurrence in paranormal romances, falling in “trust” usually takes the span of an entire book or series. I would have guessed that a heroine with the magical ability to sense lies would have a fast track through the trust building process, but ENTICE ME AT TWILIGHT proved me wrong.

Website: Hide-a-Cover Price: $4.95 – $5.95 While I have always espoused the theory that there is no one eReader for everyone, I suppose I should add that for some people, “no eReader” is the right one. I enjoy the convenience of eBooks, but I still purchase favorites in hardback. It is difficult for any device to replace the permanence and enjoyment of having a physical book to add to my library. Reading so many eBooks, however, does nothing to make me forget what has always been a significant challenge: hiding those horrific book covers. Just as some covers are a… Read more »

Reading Dracula has long been on my list of things to do. I loved The Historian, I read vampire books by the bushel, and I’ve heard time and time again that Dracula is a book celebrating technology and gadgets (admittedly, it’s “shorthand” and “typewriters”, but those were the texting and iPhones of their time). My nook came pre-stocked with a free version of the book, but even then (and I hate to admit it) my deep aversion to epistolary novels held me back. I just can’t get excited about a book told after the fact, through snatches of diaries and letters. I want action; I want immediacy! Every once in awhile I can push myself past the initial dislike, but that requires me to be trapped in scenarios involving desert islands (or family trips) with no other books in sight.
