Gert finally realizes that being such a murderous maniac might be the reason she's not been able to find her way out of the candy-coated world of Fairyland that has been her nightmare for over forty years. She sets off on a new quest to redeem herself and tries to earn her way back home with good deeds and kindness and love and whatever other mushy, touchy-feely things she can manage.
The epic and hilarious fantasy quest continues from fan favorite cartoonist SKOTTIE YOUNG
Collecting issues 11 through 15.
Gertrude is back and taking names! After yet another failed attempt to escape Fairyland, Gert is more pissed than ever in I HATE FAIRYLAND VOLUME 3: GOOD GIRL. She’s the perfect anti-hero, with glimmers of regret as she hacks and slashes her way through people who should clearly know better than to get between her and her goal.
After receiving some advice, Gert decides to try to be good. Unfortunately for her, all her attempts end in slaughter, fire and death. She’s trying, but she’s missing both the experience and the guidance. We get to see an origin story on her guide Larry, and honestly they deserve each other.
Through a series of adventures, Gert does manage to be good. Watching the surprise of the citizens of Fairyland, as she brings them back lost items or helps them conquer fears is hilarious. It is as disorienting for the reader as it is for the characters.
Luckily, nothing lasts forever, and in a lovely twist that rivals the first books, Gert is guaranteed not to keep her good girl attitude in Volume 4 of I HATE FAIRYLAND - at least, I hope not. I like her mean.Series Titles:
