Irresistible chemistry and thrilling suspense combine in this electrifying new installment in New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series

One hundred and twenty-five years is a long time to nurse a crush. That’s how long it’s been since Beth Argenis first met Cullen “Scotty” MacDonald and he instantly became the star of her most X-rated dreams. Back then, he was rescuing her from a Rogue Immortal. Now Beth’s a Rogue Hunter—a damn good one. She doesn’t need saving anymore, despite what Scotty thinks. What she does need is the fierce, wild desire that finally erupts between them.

Scotty has hesitated to claim Beth as his own. But one explosive kiss confirms what he’s long suspected: She’s his life mate. But Beth is tough, fearless, beautiful…and in immortal danger. Unless he wants to lose her forever, he’ll have to rethink everything he once believed about love and destiny as well as confront an enemy who’s terrifyingly close.

One of the great things about the Argeneau series is that you don't really have to read every previous book to have an understanding of what is going on plot-wise. This is pretty nice as I seem to randomly skip around from book to book in a haphazard manner with this series. Each book goes over some of the general history of vampires' creation in this world which after 25 books could get tiring if you're reading it for the 25th time but I found it to be a good refresher (see my random skipping comment). IMMORTALLY YOURS has a really thrilling, action-filled plot but what really stood out was the relationship complications between Scotty and Beth and how they dealt with those complications over the course of the story.

Beth and Scotty's relationship is an interesting one for the series as both are immortal, albeit Scotty is much older which is part of the issue Scotty has with making her his life mate. While I enjoyed their way of stumbling and failing their way to happily ever after, I was frustrated at the shear amount of miscommunication and lack of the ability to talk to each other especially in regards to Scotty's dickish behavior. Scotty has some valid reasons for his behavior and for holding off the life mating for centuries. But Scotty's judginess about Beth's less than ideal life as a mortal grated on my nerves. He comes off as incredibly snobbish. Beth is an amazing heroine who was a survivor as a mortal and continues to push through adversity as an immortal. He almost doesn't deserve her. I really loved Beth and hearing about her harrowing past made me want to beat some sense into Scotty. Luckily she is able to put Scotty in his place many times for me.

An issue I had was the sheer number of times Beth and Scotty are almost killed. It seemed like they never learned from past situations and never thought logically about why they're being told to not go somewhere. They get into the same situation over and over with no forward momentum until the last time Beth's life is in peril which was again due to Scotty's lack of communication ability. I enjoyed IMMORTALLY YOURS well enough, frustrations aside. It had a compelling relationship and great character growth. To continue my trend though, I may check in with this series after a few more books come out.
