Genevieve Drake has never been the helpless kind of girl, has never needed to be rescued. That is, not until her twentieth birthday when some dude nearly chokes her to death in an alley and a hot stranger splits the guy in half, rips a monster from inside, and incinerates it into ash.

The hot guy? Jude Delacroix—Dominus Daemonum, Master of Demons. Now her guardian, whether she likes it or not.

But she’s seriously beginning to like it.

The dude choking her? One of many demons from the underworld trying to abduct or kill Genevieve. As the prime target of the demon prince, Danté, she has no problem accepting Jude’s protection.

Why Genevieve? She’s a Vessel, one born to serve the Light but can be corrupted and used as a weapon for darkness. She had no idea this world even existed. Now, she just wants to survive it.

A cover re-release for this series, a big step up from the prior effort.  In this cover, the lighting looks like police lights flashing, and these natural colors help blend the cover elements together.

Kristina Says

I like this one, especially the lighting effect behind them.

Ash may have escaped the immortal-worshipping cult that killed her mother, but the love of her life is still under its thrall. Dane has been possessed by his diabolical ancestor Coronado, a man who’s fabulously wealthy, dripping with fame, and the leader of Europe’s most dangerous immortal network. Dane begs Ash to join him at Coronado’s castle in Spain, and swears that his blood bond with Ash is stronger than Coronado’s hold over him. Ash is desperate to help Dane vanquish Coronado without having to sacrifice herself to the darkness. But when you’re all in, blood and salt, the only way to hold on to the light might just be by setting everything on fire.

I love the pictures, but leaving half the cover black for that blocky title font isn’t great.

Kristina Says

At first I thought this was a back tattoo but its not. The placement is off center and I keep wanting to center it on her back.

Return to the “utterly addictive” (RT Book Reviews) world of New York Times bestselling author Dianne Duvall’s Immortal Guardians.

Dana Pembroke has been able to glimpse the future of those she touches for as long as she can remember. But she never saw Aidan coming. When the tall, dark Celt with the charming grin yet world-weary eyes walks through her door, the future she sees for him is one full of violence, danger, deception… and passion. Because amidst the terrifying battles that unfold in her visions, she also sees herself in Aidan’s arms and in his bed. Dana knows she should keep her distance, but the tender moments and laughter they share entice her even as she finds herself thrust into a world of vampires, immortals, and other preternatural beings.

Immortal Guardian Aidan O’Byrne has been hunting and slaying psychotic vampires for nearly three thousand years, so visions of bloody battles don’t trouble him. The battles Dana foresees, however, show Aidan’s brethren turning against him, so he can’t help but feel alarmed. While he spends as much time as he can with Dana, struggling to decipher her dire predictions, Aidan finds himself utterly smitten. Hope rises that he has finally found a woman who can banish the darkness and loneliness that plague him. But when vampires begin targeting Dana and a powerful enemy spawns chaos, will fate grant them time to find happiness together?

Julia Says

This is a more UF vibe than this series’ usual PNR.  It looks like True Blood’s Vampire Bill rides again!

Kristina Says

Is he part human and human? I mean typically we have the animal he shifts into and with those human eyes…(yes I read the description). Besides the weird eyes in the back, this is an okay cover.

KMM announced this on a book signing Feb 2017:

The next book up for me is a Dani novel. It does not pick up where Feversong ended, but at a different time (and that’s all I’m saying for now.) The title is HIGH VOLTAGE – A Fever Novel. Last signing is over so it’s back to my bliss, aka the writing cave. It’s been great getting to meet so many of you at the con/signings and in chats!

I don’t have a release date yet but it definitely won’t be January 2018. Possible February, March, April.

Julia Says

This looks like broken Silvers, very nice.  I’d like to see a little more polish for the final product, though.  Maybe because a close up of the face seems unusual for the series.

Kristina Says

I like the broken glass effect. Maybe a simpler mirror would have been better as it seems to be a bit too busy.

Sure enough, word soon reaches the school that one of the local count’s house sage has died, perhaps slain by black magic. Durwin is whisked away to the family’s castle, only to find that one death was only the beginning. The young sage quickly learns of a dizzying plot to assassinate King Henry. Dropped into the middle of the complex politics of England’s royal courts, can Durwin stop them in time?

I like this melange of high fantasy elements.

This looks like the intro screen or shot to some British murder mystery show. I love it.

She looks a little blurry in the images I can find online, hopefully she’s more crisp in person.

Kristina Says

Classic urban fantasy type cover. Though if she’s fighting someone she should probably not wear white.

I love that he looks shocked and impressed by his own flaming sword.

It’s a nice action shot with his hair flying all around. The title font is nice too.
