In the explosive finale to New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince series, Vlad is in danger of losing his bride to an enemy whose powers might prove greater than the Prince of Vampire’s….

In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.

For nearly six hundred years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlad’s new bride against him.

A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila’s closest friends against them…and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

Kristina: INTO THE FIRE was a pretty epic finale to this trilogy. So much happens in this story that it's hard to know where to start. I loved learning more about Leila's ancestry and seeing how she has grown into her life as a vampire. This being a Night Prince series book there is violence galore, tragedies, victories, and fascinating discoveries. The plot gets a bit to complicated and twisty at points but luckily the story rights itself eventually.

The world gets larger with the introduction of demons and witches. I loved seeing this expanded on as well as getting to see new faces along with old ones. The demons are what I am most interested in and I hope this aspect of the world gets fleshed out more in other books. While I like the vampires in this series, it seems about time to see more supernatural creatures in this world. Going further in to the magical aspect of this world is what drives the plot of this story and it is pretty cool.

While I liked most of the secondary characters-even the at times short lived demons- I wasn't too excited by the villain. The villain was kind of tacked on at the end during the classic big reveal. Granted this was at the end of the book so it didn't really destroy the story for me.

I really enjoyed this conclusion to Leila and Vlad's story. It was as compelling as it was violent. I am looking forward to Ian's story in the next series Night Rebel.

Kate: Kristina did a little more research than me, but after reading INTO THE FIRE, I was convinced that there would be further books in the Night Huntress/Night Prince world.  While I enjoyed INTO THE FIRE, it had a few downsides, and feeling like setup for further spinoffs was one of them.

Like Kristina, I enjoyed the expansion of the magical aspects of the world - they were done in a way that totally made sense and were intriguing, making me want to learn more about them. The giant crew of characters was only missing cameos by Cat and Bones, which did leave me a little disappointed! All the other characters were amazing though, and I really enjoyed seeing some characters more and meeting new ones.

INTO THE FIRE seemed to be less about Leila and Vlad, and more about resolving Leila's problem. While this wasn't an issue for me, it just meant there were less sparks between Leila and Vlad than in previous books, and more dramatic, emotional moments. We get to see more into Vlad's character, and as Leila learns more about herself, she grows quite a bit, emotionally and in her powers.

All in all, an excellent conclusion to the series. After this book, I am definitely look forward to future books set in this world, especially after the drama that happened with Ian. With all the setup, the world is getting more and more exciting, and I can't wait to see where Frost takes her story next!

Were you surprised by the revelation that demons exist in the Night Prince world? I have not had a chance to read this yet. But I would not be surprised. We have vampires and other mystical creatures so why not demons.

I haven’t read Into the Fire yet, but based on the first three books, I think Vlad and Leila’s relationship has a chance although it isn’t assured. I have no doubt they love each other, but I think they still need to develop more trust with each other, especially if they keep facing so much adversity.

I haven’t read Into the Fire yet, but I think the relationship will last. Vampires have a way of making it last
