Seeing is Believing
Seeing is believing, but some things aren’t meant to be discovered. For instance, that your ex-boyfriend is a werewolf and your cool job is a cover for international intrigue.
Lexie, the heroine of Possessed by a Wolf, is hired to be the official photographer for a royal wedding. She’s taking pictures of the ring just as her ex-lover literally crashes the party in werewolf form. Among the shower of broken glass and disconcerted vampires, Lexie begins to perceive—with and without her camera lens—that not much is what it appears to be. The hero is a shapeshifter, doppelgangers take the place of trusted friends, and the palace walls are riddled with secrets. Not even the wedding ring is simple jewelry, but the key to a plot much bigger than simple human politics. As the story unfolds, the reliability of the visible world comes into question time and again. Through it all, Lexie searches through photographic evidence to find the objective truth.
You might say this is par for the course when dealing with the paranormal. After all, the word “occult” is from Latin occulere, which means to conceal. We associate the word with hidden knowledge and the supernatural, but magic is not the only thing hiding here. Lexie’s perception of reality is obscured by a traumatic past that has taught her to be fearful. That’s what ended her relationship with Faran, her werewolf ex, years before. As a photographer who relies on her vision—and as an innocent caught in a deadly mystery—she can’t afford that blind spot.
That’s where Faran comes in, with his wise cracks and bitter experience with the underworld. He hides behind his own masks—as a shape shifter, it comes naturally—but he has a wolf’s ability to sniff out the truth behind appearances. As a team, they have a chance of surviving the threats surrounding them. But the lovers need to drop their guard and take a second chance on each other. Lexie has to believe that the terrifying wolf is fierce and faithful and will show her what it is to be cherished. For that, she has to open her senses to the pleasure he offers. His world is all about taste, smell, and touch. Seeing is just the beginning, because real truth and belief goes far deeper than appearances.

Wolves mate for life…and wolves never forget their first love.
Royal photographer Lexie Haven wasn’t expecting to see her ex-boyfriend Faran ever again. She could accept that he was a spy, but a werewolf? No way. No matter how good they had been together, she has very personal reasons for steering clear of monsters. That is, until he literally crashes into a royal gathering in all his furry glory—and with a gunman on his tail.
Within minutes of seeing each other again, the two estranged lovers are on a collision course. For now, Lexie is a prime suspect in the heist of a priceless ring, and only Faran can help her find the jewel and restore peace to the royal kingdom. But first, Lexie needs to trust in second chances and the supernatural.
