#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire…

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

BURN FOR ME is the Andrews writing team at their best. Complex and original world building, vivid characterization, witty banter, and sexual chemistry that extends beyond the physical.

The fantastic characterization starts with the heroine and continues on to the background characters, everyone from her family to villains, both the magically murderous and the venial bureaucrats.  Nevada is smart, professional, and determined not to let circumstances swamp her, and Rogan may just supplant Thea Harrison's Dragos as my favorite dragon, metaphorical or not.  While the romantic elements in BURN FOR ME are well defined enough to make a case for Paranormal Romance, clearly this series will have some serious Urban Fantasy chops as well.  Come for the smoldering, stay for the action and apocalyptic magic.

The worst part about reading BURN FOR ME is knowing it's sequel won't be out until 2015.  Then again, one month after finishing this story for the first time, I was already back for a re-read.  An absolutely fantastic book (again and again), this series is already on my "Favorites" shelf.

  • For another magical power couple and an intricate urban fantasy world, try Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series.
  • For Paranormal Romance that offers well-written characters, fantastic sexual chemistry, and world building that would do any urban fantasy series proud, try Thea Harrison's Elder Races series.

I”ve wanted to read this book since all my GR friends had read it and loved it and b/c it’s Ilona Andrews, but that though just accured to me, if I really like this book and I probably will b/c it’s my favorite author then I have to wait to 2015! UGH!!!

You could always just read BURN FOR ME every few months, like I do. I’d read it three times before this review even posted, so good!

I loved this book as well, and its an amazing start to a new series. I have to admit that the kate daniels series was loosing some of its luster and i’m glad this writer duo came up with a new story. For me its also near perfect.
