This week’s batch of covers had some gorgeous covers and some *hilarious* covers. I’m smiling even as I type this. I was totally out of sync with Abigail and Kristina this week, which side of the Oooh/Eeek scale did you fall on?

About an ancient secret society called the Poets, that uses words as weapons, and their most gifted and troubled member, a young woman, who breaks their primary rule and falls in love.

Abigail’s Thoughts
Great dimension and I like that they just stuck with words and symbols on the cover given the premise…thought the UK cover looks great too.
Julia’s Thoughts
I spent a long time trying to make sense of the words and symbols scattered in the background, mesmerizing.
Kristina’s Thoughts
I love what they did with the text. The mixing letters with symbols to make the words was a great idea.

The world’s gone.
Worse, so is her daughter.
Awakening in a bleak landscape, Cass Dollar vaguely recalls enduring something terrible. Having no idea how many days-or weeks-have passed, she slowly realizes the horrifying truth: Ruthie has vanished. And with her, nearly all of civilization. Instead of winding through the once-lush hills, the roads today see only cannibalistic Beaters-people turned hungry for human flesh by a government experiment gone wrong.
In a broken, barren California, Cass will undergo a harrowing quest to get Ruthie back. Few people trust an outsider-much less one who bears the tell-tale scars of a Beater attack-but she finds safety with an enigmatic outlaw, Smoke. And she’ll need him more than ever when his ragged band of survivors learn that she and Ruthie have become the most feared, and desired, of weapons in a brave new world….
“Sugar, you’ve never seen AFTERTIME like this…” – Sophie Littlefield
Abigail’s Thoughts
On of my favorite series ever is getting rereleased with new covers…I like the bleakness and that that used the warm red colors again. I do miss the barbwire and Cass in the background though
Julia’s Thoughts
I like that the texture of the image paired with that color gives that impression of fire, but this cover is a little plain over all. More serious than the US cover, though, this is CATCHER IN THE RYE does AFTERTIME.
Kristina’s Thoughts
The warm colors are very nice and muted. It looks like a painting.

TITUS: To most his gift seems like a blessing, but to him it’s a curse the other Eternal Guardian seek to exploit. One he would gladly trade for the chance to be free…even to the detriment of the world he’s bound to protect.

Abigail’s Thoughts
Totally in keeping with the series covers. I like the runes branded into his forearms too.
Julia’s Thoughts
Ha ha hahahahaha. It’s worth clicking on the original link to scroll down past “Meet Titus!” to see… man tit. Man tit, man nipple, perfectly framed by the title and that symbol. Still laughing, impossible to take this cover seriously. If I could see *anything* other than this man’s nipple, I’d say this is a good cover. But I’m too busy laughing to type that.
Kristina’s Thoughts
I agree with Abigail. The runes on his forearms are neat. He’s not too bad looking either…

Logan Hunter has finally found a woman he wants for his mate. The only problem is, she’s already married to his best friend, Graham Winters, who also happens to be his boss—Alpha of the Silverback Clan.
Honor Tate found herself moving up through the ranks of the White Paw Clan, attaining the position of beta when she was only fifteen. Nine years later the Alpha of the White Paw Clan is gone, leaving her to serve as alpha in his stead. Unexpectedly facing challenges from several males in her pack, she asks Graham Winters to acknowledge her right as the new Alpha. It’s either that, or fight every would-be challenger, quite possibly to the death—theirs or hers.
Instead, Graham sends Logan to determine Honor’s fitness as the new Alpha of the White Paw Clan. Logan’s grateful for the chance to get the hell out of town and get his raging hormones under control. Too bad for him that those hormones are going to rage even harder when he meets Honor Tate face to face and realizes that sometimes fate is smarter than your average were.

Abigail’s Thoughts
Red against white is always eye catching…her lips are insane…but I totally want her lipstick.
Julia’s Thoughts
A gorgeous wolf cover, I love those red lips over the small, spare woods in the background.
Kristina’s Thoughts
That red lipstick really makes her lips ‘pop’. I like the different font used for the “H”. Its a small thing but it difference from the rest of the font kind of drew my eye to it which is good for a cover.

Photographing ghost towns across the American West, Kadie Andrews takes a wrong turn and ends up in Morgan Creek—a spot that isn’t on the map. It’s a quaint little place, but there’s something off about its complacent residents. And when twilight falls, it takes on a truly sinister air…
Unable to run or to find any way out, Kadie finds herself a prisoner, hunted for her blood. Still more disturbing, her spirit and beauty have captured the attention of the town’s leader—the mysterious Rylan Saintcrow. When he looks into her eyes, she can see his hunger. When he takes her in his arms, she can feel his power. When he presses his lips against hers, she can taste his need. Saintcrow may be the most powerful creature she’s ever imagined, but Kadie knows in her heart that he is also a man. A man who needs a woman. To want him, desire him, crave him. To be his willing prisoner—for all eternity…

Abigail’s Thoughts
Meh…the muddy colors aren’t my favorite here.
Julia’s Thoughts
I really like these elements, but something doesn’t look quite right. The placement of the face and body are awkwardly placed in relation to the title.
Kristina’s Thoughts
There’s a smudge over her hair that is kind of annoying. I actually thought it was something on my computer screen.

Abigail’s Thoughts
The tattoo and nipple placement are a little distracting, but he looks good.
Julia’s Thoughts
Wow, butchy butch butch. The branches of that tree look like veins, an impression supported by this man’s huge, huge muscles. Giant, veiny guys aren’t my speed (and there’s a distracting nipple issue again), but the cover itself is nice.
Kristina’s Thoughts
Interesting placement for the tattoo and he knows how to hold a sword!

Abigail’s Thoughts
Look at that jaw! Love the way he’s reaching out to us too.
Julia’s Thoughts
I like a cocked eyebrow, but this guy is sporting puppy levels of forehead wrinkles. The night swimming concept is good, but his facial expression is too quirky to carry the cover.
Kristina’s Thoughts
It is cool how he looks like he’s actually moving towards us. Although it looks like he’s to far out to sea to be able to have that much of his body above water….Must have some powerful leg muscles or something.

Private Investigator Caitlyn O’Connell lost it all—her plum job as a detective for the Memphis PD, her partner and lover, and her own self-respect—to booze in an attempt to drown out the voices in her head. When her ex-partner drags her to a murder scene where she’s his only real lead, she knows it’s time to face her greatest fears and harness the inherited gifts she’s always rejected. That she’ll have a chance to prove she had damn good reasons for shutting Sam out of her life is just icing on the cake.
The last thing Sam Pierce wants is to revisit his painful relationship with Cait, but she’s the only lead he has. Sam doggedly follows Cait into a dark world filled with magick and unholy terrors as they search for killer wraiths and the demon who commands them.

Abigail’s Thoughts
I know I’ve seen this exact girl somewhere before, but I do like the overall composition. The title detail is especially gritty.
Julia’s Thoughts
The hints of red on the cover and her highlights do a great job dressing up this old cover .
Kristina’s Thoughts
Dark, gothic, and very nice. I like the pentagram in the “O”.

Abigail’s Thoughts
The first time we see a full female face on this series…not loving her expression or the makeup
Julia’s Thoughts
There’s a few elements that raise this cover from “meh” to “oooh”. I smiled at how the Avon Books symbol is placed like a tattoo on the hero’s shoulder, and I love how the subtle pink the heroine’s hair compliments the pink in the color.
Kristina’s Thoughts
Wow I had the same thought on the makeup. Its bordering on drag queen and is not sexy. I don’t like Avon Books right on that guy’s arm. Couldn’t they have moved it up into the corner?

Abigail’s Thoughts
He looks bored and sleepy.
Julia’s Thoughts
GACK! What, were they only allowed one set of eyes on this cover? It looks like they caught the model mid-blink, this could be a derp outtake on any other site.
Kristina’s Thoughts
Boring and those eyes are creepy. Don’t like the lion’s face being half covered. Looks odd.

Abigail’s Thoughts
So pretty. I love how the colors and glow are a perfect match for the moon and sky.
Julia’s Thoughts
Hah, unfortunate cloud placement. Best case, her dress is on fire. Worst case? She should really see a doctor.
Kristina’s Thoughts
I love how the dress flows into the cloud/mist. I agree on how the colors are a great match for the moon and sky.

Callie has flashes of her ex-renter Helena’s memories, too …and the Old Man is back, filling her with fear. Who is real and who is masquerading in a teen body? This is the thrilling sequel to “Starters”.

Abigail’s Thoughts
This series has such a unique asthetic. It really suite the subject matter.
Julia’s Thoughts
GAH! Again?! I was all set for my creepy “Worst” cover, then I hit this one. The human face gets disturbing when it’s close but a little off… this cover freaks me out.
Kristina’s Thoughts
Interesting concept for the design. On first glance it looked like an unfinished sketch but then there is a lot of detail in the illustration that the lack of color doesn’t matter.

LOL! All I’m seeing is nipples in this post. As my husband would say, if there is “useless nipples” on the cover then it’s must be a romance book. LOL
Lol @Jennifer, my husband would agree with your husband
I do like some of the covers
like Falling Blind mmm and one for the wicked!
