A virus that had once been contained has returned, and soon no place will be left untouched by its destruction. But when seventeen-year-old Cheyenne wakes up in Elysian Fields–a subdivision cut off from the world and its monster-creating virus–she is thrilled to have a chance at survival.

At first, Elysian Fields, with its beautiful houses and manicured lawns, is perfect. Teo Richardson, the older man who stole Cheyenne’s heart, built it so they could be together. But when Teo tells Cheyenne there are tests that she and seven other couples must pass to be worthy of salvation, Cheyenne begins to question the perfection of his world.

The people they were before are gone. Cheyenne is now “Persephone,” and each couple has been re-named to reflect the most tragic romances ever told. Everyone is fighting to pass the test, to remain in Elysian Fields. Teo dresses them up, tells them when to move and how to act, and in order to pass the test, they must play along.

If they play it right, then they’ll be safe.

But if they play it wrong, they’ll die.

“It’s here!! I LOVE it. My cover artist, Jeremy West, did an amazing job. I love to zoom in to study all the detailing. I seriously wish we could print six feet long books.” – Mary Gray

Abigail’s Thoughts

Ooh! This is very cool. I’m loving her large doll eyes and the way her skin seems to be cracking off.

Julia’s Thoughts

I love the colors on this color, but the vibe is more “zany teen sitcom” than apocalyptic thriller.

Kristina’s Thoughts

Someone went to town on that poor doll. I also adore her huge eyes! She looks both real and doll like if that makes any sense.

Joining Nemesis, Unlimited has made Eva Warrick much more than the well-mannered lady she appears to be—one who can shoot, fight, and outsmart any man in the quest to right the injustices so often suffered by the innocent. She’s not afraid of the burly escaped convict, but she is startled by their shared attraction. She and her partners need Jack’s help to get to Rockley, but Eva finds she wants Jack for scandalous reasons all her own…

Abigail’s Thoughts

This looks like Chris McGrath’s work. The foggy feel is perfect. This is probably my favorite Zoe cover yet.

Julia’s Thoughts

I recently had an impromptu Bourne marathon, which may be why this cover model immediately reminded me of the villain that killed Marie (and subsequently, my interest in the series).  Despite these negative associations, I’m loving the gritty, hairy “real man” vibe.

Kristina’s Thoughts

I appreciate that they decided to show his head instead of just the torso.

Esther thinks there’s more to life than toiling at harvesting, gleaning, and excavating, day after day under the relentless sun, just hoping to make it to the next day. But then Caleb, a mysterious stranger, arrives in town, and Esther begins to question who she can trust. As shady pasts unravel into the present and new romances develop, Caleb and Esther realize that they must team together to fight for their lives and for the freedom of Prin.

Abigail’s Thoughts

The font is my favorite part, but I also like the sparse, abandoned feel.

Julia’s Thoughts

Love the lighting and composition of the background image, but the title font looks a little hackey.

Kristina’s Thoughts

I like how the whole cover looks rusty with the gold and orange colors mixing. The broken wood for the title font is cool too.

Abigail’s Thoughts

Just enough ‘ick’ for a zombie novel

Julia’s Thoughts

Telling people this book’s title is going to suck.

Kristina’s Thoughts

Nice touch with the dead bugs around a bloody liscense plate.

Abigail’s Thoughts

It’s fine. Not great, not bad.

Julia’s Thoughts

Mmmm… I’m not sure I can take the “shoulder showers” with a straight face.  Definitely worth an eyebrow raise.

Kristina’s Thoughts

I like the waterfalls but yeah its just okay.

Abigail’s Thoughts

A little plain, but the white wash is an interesting choice for PNR.

Julia’s Thoughts

I’m not a big fan of the white background, but I love how the cover model looks like a drawing.

Kristina’s Thoughts

Kind of boring and the golden eye would be better if it was brighter.

Abigail’s Thoughts

I forgot what this cover looked like the second I clicked away from it. Not a good sign.

Julia’s Thoughts

Definite alien vibe.  My eye kept trying to make the space between the trees into a five, and I liked the placement of the title a lot.

Kristina’s Thoughts

I like the golden sunlight behind the trees. Kind of dull though.

Abigail’s Thoughts

I think they could have come with a stronger image(s) based on the title, but the author lineup is awesome!

Julia’s Thoughts

The orange is a little too brash for me, but the neck kiss is adorable.  Of course, all I see on this cover are the author’s names, can’t wait!

Kristina’s Thoughts

Topless woman. Thats new! Very sexy.

THE OCEAN AT THE END OF THE LANE is a fable that reshapes modern fantasy: moving, terrifying and elegiac – as pure as a dream, as delicate as a butterfly’s wing, as dangerous as a knife in the dark, from storytelling genius Neil Gaiman.

It began for our narrator forty years ago when the family lodger stole their car and committed suicide in it, stirring up ancient powers best left undisturbed. Dark creatures from beyond the world are on the loose, and it will take everything our narrator has just to stay alive: there is primal horror here, and menace unleashed – within his family and from the forces that have gathered to destroy it.

His only defense is three women, on a farm at the end of the lane. The youngest of them claims that her duckpond is an ocean. The oldest can remember the Big Bang.

Abigail’s Thoughts

Isn’t this just lovely and haunting?

Julia’s Thoughts

I love her breath in the water, though her placement makes me think she’s about to breach whale-style.

Kristina’s Thoughts

Very creepy and kind of disturbing with the drowing girl.

Abigail’s Thoughts

The misty green color is very nice here (actually the whole series has beautiful color), though I wish the girl was more distinctive.

Julia’s Thoughts

This series has been going on an evolution from mysterious fantasy to forgettable YA.  I miss the mystique of FATED.

Kristina’s Thoughts

I love the color used here.

Abigail’s Thoughts

Lush jungle with jaguar eyes. Kind of perfect for the title.

Julia’s Thoughts

Ok, this is a version of the floating head works for me.

Kristina’s Thoughts

I really like the jaguar eyes and the faint outline of his face. Kinda scary but in a good way…

Abigail’s Thoughts

So this is awesome. I’m totally thinking about the mechanical owl from the old Clash of the Titans film.

Julia’s Thoughts

Perfect for an anthology, I love the placement of the raven on this cover.

Kristina’s Thoughts

Two thumbs up for the awesome mechanical bird on top of the binoculars.

Abigail’s Thoughts

Love the neon colors with the simple, bold design. Feels very vintage.

Julia’s Thoughts

Man, I love everything about this.  The world cupped in his hand, the radioactive green background, a perfect match for the description!

WHAT THE HELL?

Next thing she knows, she’s accidentally signed over her soul. Literally. And she’s discovered Thomas’s real mission: to kill thirteen bad guys in one year, in order to get his—now his and Kate’s—souls back.

IT’S NOT JUST A JOB. IT’S A MISADVENTURE.

From learning to boost the morale of some paper-pushing demons to navigating her way through blood-red tape, Kate has to work closely with her super-hot supervisor and get her flaky act together, before somebody clocks her out—p permanently!

“Telling people this book’s title is going to suck.” – Julia

*chokes* Oh that was brilliant. I don’t want to know if it wasn’t deliberate :P

Mind you, I liked the cover, but it looked more thriller than para until I actually sounded out the number plate. Then I reread Julia’s comment and the choking happened!
