View all the previous Hot Off The Press posts After a few massive release months, November is going to be much kinder to our respective wallets with only 64 new paranormal releases. That’s around half as many as the previous two months. There are still plenty of titles to drool over including new Jim Butcher, Ilona Andrews, and Kresley Cole stories, as well as some tempting YA releases… Read more »

We have about a million covers to share this week (conservative estimate), and in the interest of saving space and time, this week’s Cover Art post is a “streamline” edition. You can click on the book’s title to link to Goodreads or on the images themselves to link to the cover reveal source (be it author, book blog, or Goodreads). McKenzie Lewis, a human with the highly sought after ability to track fae, is back and once again embroiled in the fae civil war. In THE SHATTERED DARK, there’s not quite as much story development, but be prepared for non-stop action, intrigue, and a few bombshells that will leave you dying for book three.
THE WARLOCK’S CURSE is a fascinating, dark, adventure story filled to the brim with steampunk science and technology. The first few chapters dragged a little but the second half of the story more than made up for the lackluster start with some startling revelations.
The Abby Sinclair series has been on my radar for quite some time and I couldn’t let one more book slip past me without jumping in to try it for myself. Starting with book three posed some predictable problems as far as emotional reactions and catching up with the plot, but from the first chapter I knew I was going to finish A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT and rush back to A BRUSH OF DARKNESS to catch up.

DESPERATELY SEEKING SHAPESHIFTER, book two in the Midnight Liaisons series, picks up right on the heels of BEAUTY DATES THE BEAST and focuses on werewolf Sarah and werebear Ramsey who are forced to pretend to be mates in order to protect Sarah from an abusive Pack that wants to forcibly claim her. It’s super flirty, super sexy, and super fun.
Stark and powerful, Nekro’s cover for LAST BLOOD by Kristen Painter garnered unanimous “Best” ratings across the board. Even more impressive, he was competing against his own work. We picked the scarlet of LAST BLOOD over the blue of ASHES ON THE WAVES, which Nekro cover do you like best? There is nothing typical about the books Carolyn Crane writes. Without exception they are wildly imaginative, endlessly surprising, and utterly unique. That is no less true of her latest paranormal romance, MR. REAL, the first book in the new Code of Shadows series about a woman who inherits a magical computer capable of conjuring anything–or any one–to her doorstep.
Imagine stepping on to a new planet to find yourself accompanied by the flesh and blood embodiment of a ghost. Human, emotional, totally unaware of their own death or your loss. From that premise GHOST PLANET caught my eye, and after two chapters I was entirely hooked.
